"Gallery Rustique"
September 11th - September 30th, 2010
Opening reception: September 11th, 4-6pm

What do broken watches, gear's, cogs, vintage photos, rusted metal, antique photo frames and animal bones all have in common?
They are all coming together in the art work of local artists for a show called "Gallery Rustique".  Creating jewelry, sculpture, assemblage, prints and even hats combining these elements, and more, the artists have given rusty bits a second chance at life and art.

"Gallery Rustique" is a collaboration by four of The Picklepot's artists: Jennifer "jeff" Bowie, James Motta, Rebecca and Josh deVries, all of whom work in a diverse range of vintage materials.

Although all four artists came to this style seperately, their work oscillates easily between "Steampunk", "Neo-victorian", the work of Joseph Cornell and "Monty Python."

"We have been tossing the idea of a show back and forth now for over a year." says artist and gallery owner, Jeff Bowie.
"There are some great events coming up in the next few weeks, the "Steampunk Invasion of Salem" being one of them. We wanted to slide into that window between the end of summer and the beginning of the Halloween season."
